Shirarahama beach (3 minutes walk)
Being a sister to Waikiki Beach in Hawaii with clear blue waters, the white, silky sand beach and its charming coast are beautiful and pleasant, especially in the summer when it gets lively with the perfect tropical atmosphere. There is also a hot spring that you can enter with your swimsuit and a park with playground equipment, making it very popular with families with children.

Adventure World (10 minutes by car)
The park is themed "Interaction Between Humans, Animals, and Nature", which both adults and children will enjoy. You can see up close about 1,400 animals from the sea and land living in their natural habitat. You'll also get to meet a family of pandas, and there are roller coasters and a giant Ferris wheel. A hit with families with children!

Toretore Market (11 minutes by car)
As one of the largest seafood markets in West Japan, it is run by the local Katada Fishermen's Association, so the taste and freshness are perfect with reasonable prices. A wide variety of seafood from all over Japan and specialties from Wakayama are sold here. There are also restaurants around serving fresh seafood.

There is a fresh fish market on the first floor, restaurants on the second floor, and a seasonal beer garden on the roof. Enjoy Japanese and Italian cuisine featuring plenty of fresh seafood landed directly from the attached pier.

Engetsu Island (8 minutes by car)
Engetsu Island is a well-known symbol of Shirahama. It is officially named Takashima, but is called Engetsu ("full moon") because of the circular moon-shaped sea cave opening in the middle of the small island. The sunset over Engetsu Island has been selected as one of the 100 best sunsets in Wakayama Prefecture and is exceptionally beautiful.

Senjojiki (5 minutes by car)
The large rock formation juts out into the sea, which looks like it has been covered with many tatami mats. It is a magnificent landscape that has been eroded by the rough waves lapping against it, famous for its beautiful sunsets over the Pacific.

Sandanbeki (2 minutes by car)
The cliff is 50m high and stretches 2km from north to south. The sight of the waves crashing against the rock face makes it very powerful.

Heisogen Park (11 minutes by car)
The park is situated on a hill and offers a panoramic view of the town of Shirahama. Lined with cherry blossom trees, a plum blossom garden, as well as other seasonal flowers, there is also a 2km long field athletic course.
